  Eagle

  Like an eagle, 
he longs for freedom--
to spread his wings  
and fly into the face of the sun.

                      Alone,                      
he says he needs no one--- 
...denies what my heart tells him
and holds his head high in pride.

Fly my precious eagle
away from me--      
...soaring to new heights
   into a life I can never share;
but remember      
should you fall,  
I will be here-- 
to mend your broken wings
with my love.
