  From the Inside Looking Out

Alone, the busy world swirling around him,
 he hides himself within.

Unlistening ears avoid outsiders,
 and he chooses to be blind.

They think he is not thinking,
 sitting there alone in the corner,
 rocking to the monotone music
 that he sings to himself.

Inside his lonely world his mind is busy.

So many thoughts but he can't find words.

Maybe tomorrow he will tell someone
 if they will just take the time
 to care, to listen, to love.
